Below is the marketing flyer and a brief description of our two presentations for the Dimensions of Disability and Veteran Inclusion Summit.
Title: What do you see when you look at me?
David Fazio, Helix Opportunity Inc.
Description: David Fazio will share his personal, and professional experience as a survivor of a softball sized hemorrhagic stroke, living, and working, with both hidden, and visible disabilities. His unique insight as a former federal union representative litigating disability discrimination cases before the equal employment opportunity commission gives him an intimate perspective on why employees decide to self-identify or not. This presentation will cover authenticity, vulnerability and inappropriate praise, the critical elements that make or break an inclusive work environment.
Title:Are we on the same page or lost in translation?
Chad Sowash, Catch 22 Consulting
Many companies believe they are Veteran friendly and a proclamation of Veteran Friendliness may be hurting your chances of actually hiring veterans. Chad will help companies truly understand what Veteran Friendly means and how to gain insight, focus and understand veterans for who they are and how their military experiences can be leveraged in the workplace. Chad will share his knowledge from his twenty year military career and his passion for building best in class military recruitment initiatives for companies that effectively recruit, advance, and retain Veterans, including our Wounded Warriors.
